The significance of children in our society and their role in the future and nation building cannot be overstated. As a community, we must recognize the importance of healthy children as the foundation of a healthy community. The Trilogy Series is a prime example of an initiative aimed at supporting such causes, specifically the underprivileged children of Cambodia. The series is a unique musical event, where three masterful pianists take turns to perform solo on one grand piano for 20 minutes each, without the use of any musical score or notation.
The event aims to support the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital, which has provided quality medical care to underprivileged Cambodian families who cannot afford private or public hospitals for decades. With five hospitals across the country, Kantha Bopha Hospitals have been instrumental in improving health outcomes for mothers and babies at all stages of life. Currently, these hospitals treat over 80% of all children with sickness and injuries in Cambodia, providing a vital service to the community.
The 2023 Trilogy Series, scheduled for May 20th and June 17th, will take place at Meta House, with the audience circled around the grand piano. The maximum capacity for the event is 70 seats, providing a rare chance to see professional pianists perform up close and personal. By purchasing tickets worth $10 USD, the audience can contribute to the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital and help children who cannot afford good medical care.
The participating pianists include Christina Sen and Rong Sereyvann from Cambodia, Philippe Javelle and Etienne Chenevier from France, and Gabriele Faja and Alberto Firrincieli from Italy. The event is sponsored by various organizations, including the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation, Hops Craft Beer Garden & Restaurants, KMH Foundation, Soundskool Music Cambodia, The Piano Shop Cambodia, and the Italian-Cambodian Business Association - ICBA Arts Committee.
