Celebrating 6 months of Italian Cinema in Phnom Penh - Join us for the 6th Italian Night. As we anticipate the upcoming Water Festival, we are delighted to invite you to the 6th ITALIAN NIGHT, a special evening of free film screening and a cozy dinner in the garden. This event is organized as part of the Italian Cambodian Arts project at Meta House and is brought to you in collaboration with the esteemed film curator, Davide Posca.
Film Screening: "Kidnapped" (Italian: Rapito)
"Kidnapped" is a 2023 Italian-language historical drama film co-written and directed by Marco Bellocchio. It tells the compelling story of Edgardo Mortara, a young Jewish boy who was taken from his family by the Papal States and raised as a Catholic. Loosely based on Daniele Scalise's book, "Il caso Mortara," this thought-provoking film is a co-production between Italy, France, and Germany. Notably, it was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
